What makes me tick…
My name is Sally and my nickname is Sunset Sal as I’m somewhat obsessed with sunsets, particularly over water and accompanied by champagne. I love the ocean, the wilder the better, but am also drawn to mountains especially if they are covered with snow, have long bump runs and the odd couloir.
I’m a travel junkie, and love discovering emerging destinations and finding off-kilter places that shift your mindset. In my professional life I’ve been an advertising copywriter, university lecturer, digital learning designer and academic researcher – with my research area of interest intercultural communication. So when I travel , I love to tap into the cultural nuances of a place and unearth what makes the people and the town tick.
Naturally, I am also obsessed with food and wine and fun-fact, the first place I visit in any new place is the supermarket to see the kinds of foods the region produces and how the locals eat. Then I hit the bars and cafe’s to see what delicious food and beverages the region whips up.
